Dr. Suzanna Airiani performed her surgical ophthalmology training at the renowned
Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) / NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH), the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute. She then completed her fellowship training at the oldest and continually leading eye hospital in the country, the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Airiani was a recipient of The Starr Foundation scholarship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She won research competitions, and is the author of multiple publications in major national and international eye journals. She is also the creator and chief editor of Digital Reference of Ophthalmology (DRO): www.dro.hs.columbia.edu Dr. Airiani was actively involved in medical student teaching and the training of future generation eye doctors during her time at Columbia University. She then continued her work at New York University (NYU), where she received several distinguished teaching awards. Dr. Airiani has been practicing in the eye care field for more than two decades now. As a cataract, cornea and external eye diseases specialist, she routinely receives referrals for diagnosing various eye disorders, treating complex eye diseases, and performing challenging eye surgery cases. Dr. Airiani is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). She is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the Cornea Society. For the past several years, through process of peer nominations, she has been selected into the list of New York's Top Doctors.
